my fish have ick, after they die...?

my fish have had ich for about a week. the stage where the dots are small. i have been treating them with ick attack for the week. some days they look better but tonight they looked terrible. so, i figure they're gonna die soon. how long should i wait until introducing new fish after their demise? how long until the ich starves to death without fish to feed on? thanks

6 - 8 weeks i would go with 8 to be sure.

and a q/t tank would really help with new arrivals to stop another outbreak.

Reef-safe ich treatments are mostly worthless as you are learning. Hyposalinity is the best treatment for ich.
