Im really sick of being a newbie :(

My maroon clown is very close to death. Ive been trying to find out what is going on for three days now, and I dont think i have much time left

day 1. ate she ate breakfast of mysis
wouldent eat lunch, had white on the tip of her side fin, had white funk on her mouth and was biting anemone
moved to QT. she knocked the white off her mouth but it looked sore and no eating

(ideas were maybe she was stung)

day 2. No eating, looked almost fine, but was acting different

(thought i was over reacting, almost but her back in main tank)

Day 3. no eating, tried garlic extreme and that dident work either
acting weird, soreness on top and bottom of mouth, dots below her chin, airbubbles sticking to her belly, fins looked like they were fraying, few discolorations on fins, looked redish where her yellow stripes are, 1 white dot on body

treated with coppersafe and melafix 3rd night

TODAY - RED ALERT SIGNS IM SURE
HOLES in her fins.. all of them
Face/Cheeks are swollen really bad
AND
white stringy poop

I must clarify, Ive always watched her poop, and its always been brown and normal, AND she is tank bred

she hasent eaten in 4 days and It looks like im going to lose her.
Can ANYBODY PLEASE give me SOMTHING to do for her??

And, if these are internal parasites, are these caused by stress or did I have nothing to do with it? She is my only fish, and I havent introduced anything new to her.
Ive had her a little over a month
Ive had a few problems that could have stressed her out, (high nitrates in the 30's for 3 days, got a skimmer, and my salinity changed from 1.025 to 1.020 but it was slow) she seemed so happy in her anemone, and shes the healthiest fish Ive ever had. I noticed her acting weird right away... so im 4 days into whatever could be wrong :(

please help my fish :(

did your fish live?

what did you treat it with?

did you have to keep fish out of your main tank for a certain amount of time?

i just took a pic. hold on. yeah, id say its breathing heavy... :(

you can see the holes in fins and parasite poo... but not the swollen face. i finally figured out how to take close ups. four days to late i think *really bugged, this fish was so healthy, then all of a sudden this?* what causes this? it looks even worse when you can actually look at her

Well what happened was I had a female for a couple of years and wanted to pair her up and after a couple of unsuccessful tries I finally found a small juvenile. I added him to the tank and he infected the female and both of them died in a couple of weeks. When I read that this disease is rarely fatal I thought ok in time they'll be fine, guess not :(

Have you read the symptoms of Brook and do they match what's going on with your Maroon ? In the photo it looks like Lympho

*losingmind* what is lympho??? yeah, i thought it sounded a lil like brook. i actually thru a heater in some water and was thinking about getting some forilin tonight.. last ditch effort kinda.... but it sounds and looks like lotz of things to me... I had an ick breakout with my first fish, a clarkii, i waited over a month 1/2 b4 i could get myself to try agian. i bought to maroons that were at the lfs for two weeks in a 15 gal. the fish i have now almost killed the other maroon. so thats why i have a single fish, she is sooo mean. now i feel so bad for her, and here i am losing my second fish.. I havent given her the best conditions but i try really hard to. Ive screwed up a few times

Ill do a search for lympho, have any links?

thank you for the links

no def. not lympho, although those are some nasty pictures
so i have

breathing heavy
hanging out at the top of water
cloudy eyes
fraying fins with holes
white stringy poo
swelled face
no eating

no mucas like brook, and def. not ick although at this point i wish it was

I cant believe no one else has thrown in there 2 cents

That sounds like Brook ! I would treat with Formalin for a couple of weeks if it's a severe infection.

Both Lom (1995) and Noga (2000) recommend formalin baths of between 0.125 and 167 mL/L for 30 to 60 minutes. The warmer your water, the less formalin that should be used as both formalin and increasing temperature reduces the oxygen saturation of the water.

The bath water should be matched closely with the tank water and probably the best way is to take water from the tank and place it in a bucket, add the formalin. mix well and treat the fish. Replace the removed water with fresh seawater (artificial or natural depending on what is normally used). Add an airstone to the dip bucket to ensure good aeration (and then toss the airstone away). After the dip is completed, dilute the dip water with 4 times the volume of tap water and discard.

To each gallon (or 4 litres) of bath water, around 0.6 mL of formalin should be added to get the desired dosage.

Have a second bucket of tank water ready to transfer the fish to when the treatment is complete or the fish shows signs of stress. The second bucket allows the fish to be "rinsed" before it is placed back into the tank.

Don't use formalin if the water temperature is greater than 27Ã"šÃ‚°C (80Ã"šÃ‚°F).

If the fish appear to have trouble breathing - more so than before the bath started - remove them.

i have a qt tank filled eith copper right now, would i completelky clean that out first, fill with main tank water, have 1 buxket with formilin and one fresh water bucket to rinse?

the fishes temp is 82 because i cant get my main tank any cooler than that...

I would do that but wait till the temp at least goes down to 80 degrees. If you use FW make sure the temp and ph match.
