My flame anemones

I just thought I'd share a photo of my colony of flame anemones. That's the real colours as perceived by my eyes.

dang...... nice Flame BTA! and nice anthias. the reflection is making him a flame anthias

I see you are in Toronto. Did you get that the Coral Reef shop in Burlington by chance?

I picked up a nice flame anemone from there a few weeks back that has the same colouration.

Thanks! Yeah I got the fatheads in top notch condition.

That is a beautiful site, now I'm jealous.

yeah it is. I never tire of looking at them.

Gorgeous. Would love to get a hold of one of these!

Come on up to Toronto and I'll help you :)

Those are insanely nice, are they all clones of one another?

2 different sources so I don't know if they are. I have three morphs two of which are seen here. There's a morph I haven't seen elsewhere - you will see that some of them are very red instead of the usual orange-yellow color.

are those infernos?...wow...Cant wait to get mine.

These are not infernos from CC. I have that red morph I'm calling Lava red. It has a dark red shade in a flame I haven't seen anywhere.

Nice, what size tank and lights are you running.

It's a 60 cube, and I got T5s and evergrow LEDs. I'd like to get better leds for better color rendition as D120 is all 470 blues only. Still looking around for one.

No I didn't get it from coral reef but they do have nice corals there!

Beautiful... is that an acro somehow surviving in the middle?

thanks. haha nope. Acro is dead as a doorknob. :) I don't know how they survive together in the ocean. Not in home aquaria. I will tell you what survived with the nems - encrusting montipora!

Very nice, and just over the border from me - we get some of those in a couple of shops down here, but they never appear to be as large as the ones you have... :(

Great looking Nems. How many do you have in the group? What were they called whe you bought them?Did you buy them in Toronto?

Looks like a Sunburst BTA, haven't heard anyone call it a 'Flame' before.

now you have. :)

Some call it sunburst. CC calls it flame tip. Lots of people in Toronto call them flame anemone. I'm going with flame. The red morph I'm calling it lava. Looks similar to CC's inferno, but not the same. Bought them in the Toronto area. they have been growing. There's probably 30 nems of different sizes. some are quite small. They seem to like staying in a colony. Many times I've gotten 2 or three off the rocks. they climb out of the basket in darkness and goes back on the rock.

This might show the regular yellow/orange tips, and the lava red tips. Glass looks a bit foggy. Might need cleaning :)
