So I finally got a good shot of one of the new heads my frogspawn is making. He was eating so I took the opportunity to take a shot. Soon my frogspawn will have 4 heads :) here's a pic!

Thanks for the compliments! I got the coral on 4/30/2011, so 3 months before I started seeing the little heads pop up. The large head on top already split into 2 about a month ago. I hope they make it too! so far so good!!

Yeah, I noticed those when I first got mine and thought for sure they would form into larger heads.
You have re-peaked my curiosity. I just went and looked at mine .They are still tiny but have seemed to branch out further from the main stalk. I wonder if I could cut them and super glue it to a plug to give them more light.

Funny, I just noticed the same thing ony frogspawn a few days ago. I would have never noticed it if I didn't wake up early one day before the heads fully opened.

It will be intersting to see if these grow into larger heads. I have a frogspawn with 20+ heads and he has these "little heads" all over. It would be great if suddenly I had 30+ heads!

i had the same happen years ago. the key is waiting until the right size. if you get overly excited, and get it off now, it will die b/c the stalk is just not big enough. can't really see a stalk on yours. wait until it gets one, then take it out of your tank. the key is having a good pair of fragging scissors. you use your fingers, you'll just tear it wrong and it will die. i had probably 4 on my Froggie. one died b/c of improper fragging, other three grew into huge colonies.

I don't want to frag it, I want my frogspawn to get big :twitch: Thanks for the info though! I may do it some day.

+1 Time is key. I noticed one about the size of the one pictured about 3 months ago. Today it is about the size of a nickel. This is the first time I have noticed any of the little sproutlings grow to any decent size on mine.

good luck! but what you might find is that it will get shaded out by the bigger ones on top of it and it might end up dieing as a result

I have the exact same thing on my green purple tip hammer coral that has three heads. Hopefully this one will grow. I think it's slowly getting a little bit bigger. After seeing your picture I looked at mine and noticed the small head.
