2x400w HQI Radium on BW7

Wow, thats alot of light! Perhaps mine has been starving?

I need an ice storm to make some babies for me ;) Nice pics on those. I had one exactly like yours Roklem, but I sold it, took up to much room and stung a couple of expensive pieces. Had I had more room I never would have gotten rid of it.

Yes and no. It's partially shaded in the middle of a 180 (6' tank).

LFS and RC sponsor, phishybusiness.com

Typically has a few, and some small babies/frags every once in a while.

I saw one for sale at another online vendor (red w/ purple-blue centers). How difficult is it to care for ? IE: do you have to target feed it daily ? more than once daily ? or just a couple of times a week (like our dendros) ?

Thanks in advance.. we just don't want to buy something that we can't support :)

oh, and will 2 dif goni's "fight" or co exist ? Or more specifically, will one overrun another if they end up on the same rock ?

Thanks :)

Hi
I won a red at a frag swap.Doing well started to encrest. Not feeding yet since I'm not sure what to use.

Two of the same species will be fine together.
I've experimented several times with two different species and each time they never visibly hurt each other, but they eventually developed acrospheres on the tips of their tentacles. Also, the polyps that were facing each other would remain more retracted.

I found some at Liveaquaria and Phishybusiness earlier this week (first and only 2 online vendors I checked). I am not sure if they were flukes to find them like that or if I just got lucky in my search. HTH.

You weren't lucky to find them at Phishy. That's where I got mine (I'm in there about once or twice a week). He typically has a number of goni available, and recently had as many as a half dozen red frags available. I can check again next time I'm in there.

my Goni's are dying!! First, one or two of its tentacles dead, now all of it are covered with some brown slime. What's happening? How do i save them???

Brown jelly infection. Dipping the coral in an iodine solution can help, but it is difficult to get rid of. Unfortunately, yours is probably a goner by now.

Has anyone in this thread had success with keeping goni's alive for an extended period of time? I have heard they dont do so well in captivity.

Great Gonis.Makes me want to try my luck again.I had a green Goni for almost 2 years before I lost him. It was growing good then started to receade around the edges. Before I knew it it was gone.

Did you read the first post?

They don't do well in captivity, unless you know how to take care of them.
