My Growing Ric Garden

Am I the only one that almost likes the look of more dull colored coral vs extremely bright/neon designer corals? They look cool, but not natural!

Quick update as I got 2 more nice quality Ric's :) these 2 small frags set me back $270... :X

in order to prevent Nicole from harming/stealing or tumbling over these nice Ric's upon the fake wall, I have finally gummed them down to the plateaus thus seating them for good.

:) the wall is slowly being filled, this wall will take a LONG time...simply because Ricordeas cost so much and the wall will only have "premiums" upon it not the common colors of dull green / grey etc.

Splurged a bit today and bought 3 Ultra Premium Grade Ric's (1 small 2 large) along with around 50 Ric's between 1"-2" diameter but plain standard grade and 1 Forest Fire Rhod.

The other large Ultra Premium Ric is still adjusting and not yet fully open, pic to come it is very nice though :).

Incredible!! Where do you buy your rics from?

Everything must be bought locally, I'm an Ozzy...

We cannot Import / Export, order online from an awesome Yank site and get like 1000 ric's sent :(

We gotta pay $1000 for 1 Ric xD....:deadhorse1:

Here are a few more Ric's :) still waiting to get a good pic of the 2nd Large Ultra Premium Ric...

Got this Bright Green Ric yesterday quite cheap for it's brightness, it is distinctly brighter then all the pale greens/blues/purples on the substrate...so it goes up on the wall :), I am trying to fill the wall with just really Bright / Premium Grade Rics, so the new Bright green one might not be considered "Premium" but it is certainly Bright enough to have a seat on the wall.

Speaking of "The Wall"... :), all the ledges/plateaus I made have now been taken by a Bright/Premium Ric! Now I just need to fill in the gaps upon the wall itself!

Here is the resident Stomatopod, Nicole must of seen something move in the Ric Carpet below the wall, she strategically moved herself into position so much as to use the Large Hot Pink Ric as cover :D...

There are gold in dem der Ric's.

Very beautiful Rics you have there, one of my favorite corals.

So I have a few questions hopefully someone can answer

1. If a Ric was two different color when you bought it and it bleaches out but is coming back will it come back as the original colors it was at first??

2. If you place a bunch of rics together so they touch and then start to multiply will the babies take on the colors of the touching rics or will they only stay the color the parent ric is??

Sorry if they are dumb questions but no one here in my hometown can answer these for me.

In short, I have no idea...

But I do know 1 thing and it's the only reason I have Ric's & Rhod's...they are the easiest "coral" to keep, specifically in my current situation (my system is about to get a large upgrade to be more then reef capable), I've seen many photos online of peoples Ric's touching and I have heard many people ask if it's ok to and the general response seems to be yes, but as far as the whole color side of it I got no idea...

I will admit that if 1 of my premiums specifically a large...bleached/lost color, I'd be quite upset cause they cost close to $500 ea....:headwally:

Thanks for the response.

Here I am complaining about the price of 26.95 CDN here and the prices you all pay there wow that is insane. But they are beautiful corals my favorite just wish we had more of the colors you can get.

There is a few places online we can order them, they range from $40.00-60.00 each so I guess that is still very cheap compared to what you have to pay. Yikes.
