Hi all, after doing some research here and other places, I'm going to give kalkwasser a try.
Here's my strategy. I have a Tunze ATO - I currently fill up my 4 gallon ATO container once a week. I will prepare the kalk solution in 5 gallon jugs; I will start out at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon, so 2.5 teaspoons in each 5 gallon jug. I'll mix the jug lightly, then just let it sit. Then each Friday when I fill up my ATO container, I will slowly pour in the kalk mix from the 5 gallon jug, trying to keep the sediment at the bottom of the jug from getting into my ATO container.
Am I missing anything? That's basically it, right?
The idea of calcium and alkalinity in one solution seems great to me.
