My leemar 120G Build

This has been the longest spring break EVER! The Friday before my spring break I re-did the plumbing on my 150G because it was leaking a bit. I put a brace on the pipe so that it could release somme stress on the bulkhead. Unfortunately it ended up putting MORE pressure on it but in the opposite direction :thumbdown I spent most of my spring break at work and cleaning up the mess.

I'd like to thank a few people for helping with all this. First of smalltime, he was the first person to come and help me early that morning. He found a new home for my LTA and he also came back that day, after I got off work, and helped me clean up and brought me light rails for the new tank. I'd also like to thank skairic for taking all my SPS that morning. He also came back later that day and helped me carry out the broken tank. Thanks to cthetoy for picking up my RBTA with in an hour and a half of posting it for sale. I put my nems in a 20G tank and they took up more than half the tank! I'm certain that they wouldn't have lasted the day in there. Also thanks to goshishi for coming all the way to Riverside and picking up all my sand. He even stuck around for a bit in case we needed help with anything.

now on to the build!

Thanks to mudnut for an awesome deal on this tank! I still can't believe the timing. This tank was posted the day after mine broke. Thanks to jeffreylam1132 for hooking me up with a new sump. I sold mine to a reefer that needed one ASAP the day before I bought the new tank. It ended up working perfectly because my old sump wouldn't have fit under this tank. I was planning on being out of this hobby until I got my teaching credential next year but these guys gave me a good deal! Thanks for keeping me in this expensive hobby! lol I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing :uzi:

Ok, the tank is a leemar 48x30x20 with front and side starphire panels.

What a crazy story, its coming along nicely.
Thanks man, I still can't believe my 150 broke. The thing that sucks is that everything was growing so big! I was almost at the 1 year mark with it.

Glad to see every thing worked out for you. Beautiful set up.

thanks! I like this one better than my last one already:D it's so much easier to clean because there is no brace and its at the perfect hight!

Glad you got it home safely! I love the plumbing you did. Looks like the start of a great new beginning! Looking forward to updates!

Sorry to hear about your first tank, but man this tank is sweet! Maybe a blessing in disguise.
It's got its good's and it has it bad's. The good is that this is a sweet setup! the bad is having to start all over :hmm2: I gave away all my corals because they would have died. The only things I sold were my 2 nem's. Maybe I'll start a donation thread once this tank is cycled :lol2:

thanks man! I had to re-arrange the whole room AND I had to break the door fame to get the stand in my house lol it was like .5 of an inch to big!!!!:fun4: I'm already in love with this tank! I cant wait to get it stocked!

You put a lot of work into it, but it's looking good!
yeah man, builds are lots of work but i think it pays off in the end

What kind of lighting are you using and what are you using to hang the fixture?

Right now I'm using a 48 inch Tek with 8 T5's. Later this summer I will upgrade to 4 or 5 AI fixtures. I got the light brackets from smalltime, I think they are made by cadilights.

Just finished putting in the apex! redid the electrical, changed the rock work, and put what little softies and my LPS in. My tank looks so empty :(

I'll put up pictures tomorrow

Dude,
Your tank is awesome! Love the dimensions, and the rockscape. LMK if you need help in the future. I'm in Riverside too

It's coming allong niiiice! I know it sucked what happened to your other tank. But this tank is sweet! The rockscape looks dope! I hate that empty tank look too. But little by little it will fill up bro! Keep up the good work..

As promised, Updated pictures!

Got my Apex running. MAN! this thing lags when I go through the menu and try to set things up! is that normal?

I remember seeing this tank for sale and I was really close to getting it.. Tank looks really good though, it's coming along very nicely.
