My lil emerald crab.... Why?

I just watched one of my emeralds die... Right before my eyes... He/she was literally fine an hour ago.. Munching on hair algae... And whatever.. Then just stopped.. Arms went slack and it just kinda tilted back and stopped moving.. I thought maybe it was playing dead.. But here I sit in front of my tank... An hour later... And it's upside down in the same spot.. Claws open.. And lil tail or whatever protruding out from its underside... It's deff not a moult.. Water parameters are in check... Salinity is 1.025.. And nothing has changed or has been added in a few weeks..
Anyone ever experience this? Other 2 emeralds seem fine

Livestock is..
1 lawnmower blenny
4 blue legged hermits (small)
4 red legged hermits (medium)
Dozens of tiny colonial snails (I think that's what they are called) they hitch hiked
1 big snail (don't remember the type
4 nassarious (spelling) snails
Verious bristle worms
Tube worms and feather dusters
And some serpant starfish and astrina stars

Things do tend to die. Sometimes there is no need for an aparent reason or illness.

I wouldnt worry if the the rest of your tank seems to be ok.

Not really worried.. Just.. Kinda baffled... Maybe lil dude had a heart attack or something... I mean.. I was looking at and watching him.. And I am..well..a bit scary looking LOL
Just makes me wonder why.. I read on a Differant forum.. That sometimes they die after they lay eggs.. Though probably highly unlikely that is the reason... But it would be pretty cool to see dozens of baby crabs pop up in the near future

This is why I keep 4 or 5 of them in my tank all the time. Good at eating algae and theres always at least one in there that hasn't died.

Crab life length is not very long at all.

question: Do the blue legged hermits and the red legged hermits get along? I've read they can be prone to fighting. I had considered some small blue legged hermits along side the red legged ones I've got in my tank but decided not to after having read that.

Oh, and sorry for your loss :(

Could maybe have molted and skedaddled under a rock to wait for shell to harden. If it is a molt, it will look just like the crab, but have an escape hatch.
