yup, just thought id share.

i run a closed loop system with a hang on skimmer. Its a 40 gal hex tank. 400 watt halide 20k

The ones on the i.d. look like eye of kah zoas that have not colored up yet. They like lots of light to get their best color.

Thanks everyone, i'll take a 3 shots tomorrow, FTS RTS and LTS cause its a hex with 3 viewable sides.

is that 'mushroom' a manjo pest anemone?

i really dont think so. Im pretty sure pest anemones are considered pest because they reproduce like crazy and infest tanks, this one has not had a single other clone and has all the characteristics of a mushroom. I also bought it on a rock covered with mushroom as a mushroom rock. If im wrong id like to know more about why you think its a manjo. But i dont think it is.

p.s. thanks for the id on those guys, i'll move them up in the tank asap.

its definetly a mushroom, i have a few myself

not sure the exact thing, but i just call them hairy mushrooms

mine havent extended out that much, maybe 4inches at most but your polyp extension on that mushroom is very nice

mine are only under vho for now, upgrading to mh soon

Well, that may be true. However i did read a passage how a lady had a manjo for over two years, and it only reproduced once. The clone died after a day, and the single large manjo remained. So i guess at least in her case they don't spread as much as say, aiptasia.

thats good to know. thanks everyone. i also thought they might be eagle eyes. I may be upgrading to a 65 gallon tank pretty soon. I dont like how i cant have cool rock structure in my hex.

i saw some shrooms kinda similar to your at the lfs and the young kid i was talking to said it was some sort of "deep water mushroom" glad i could put in my 2 cents even if i might be wrong! :) reef on!

Def a hairy mushroom! I have several. The zoos with the before and after pic are eagle eyes. Nice tank. I'll be looking for the FTS!

hey, I have been busy and didnt get a chance to take some new shots like a FTS or anything like that, but i have that are recent, just not new. hard to capture the way the tank really looks becuase of its odd 3 viewing planes.

thanks everyone. My tank will be upgraded to a 55 gal soon. Rectangle shaped. Im pumped for that. Hex's are cool, maybe if you want an all around look but mine has 3 sides blacked out. Also the rock structure really cant be that unique in one. They have their pros and cons but im looking forward to a rectangle.
