fast forward to 00:48 he breaks off its big pincer and takes it to his burrow. eventually he ended up going and taking the rest of the crab(didnt get that on video)

If you don't feed a mantis live foods it has to work at (read as smash open), then the mantis can suffer from atrophy.

Nice video, your little guy is a Neogonodactylus wennerae? I feed mine live foods too, especially Fiddler Crabs gives a nice smacking sound during the night and leaves me knowing their active. ​

thanks for the comments!!for the most part he eats krill and mysis shrimp but on occasion i give him a snack he can hunt!!!
