My Maxima clam

Well Some thing weird is going on in my tank for me to loose a clam is really weird.
I ordered 2 clams from the west coast with other stuff with a buddy of mine. I got a GIGA clams and a Maxima gold any ways i took my time in getting them into the tank its been around 3 weeks since i got the clam and it was doing great until yesterday.

I have dual 400's 14K sun aquatics BB lots of flow
CAl 375
ALk 8DKH
Dripping Kalk
no predators in the tank either. it jsut started to suck in its mantle and the filter hole was gapping . it in clammy heaven now ..

I had the same problem with my maxima, but my other clams are doing good. I just chalked it up to an ill specimen.

ime - croceas and maxi's do not like tons of flow

i disagree about croceas, they are found on reef crests and have no problem with high flow.

how big was the clam?

well when mine were getting hit with a 6100 from about 13"-18" away they were not extending their mantles, so i figured that meant they were unhappy.....i moved them to a lower flow area and they fully extend every day since......just my experience

the max was about 4-5 " all gold too a sexy clam .. well used to be
