My Meteor Shower Experiment

So a while back picking up some live rock at my LFS, I came across some small pieces of dead coral branches thinking that I might have a use for them in the future. Forward to today: Today i began my experiment with one of the branches and a frag of Green and Orange Meteor Shower. I gotta play around with it's position in the tank to see where it will grow best. I don't have a very powerful light so I'm hoping I will have more options for placement. I basically just snipped off pieces of the frag and glued them to different spots on the dead coral.

I'm not sure how long posts last in the forums now but I will give updates on it's progress in a few months time. Hope this goes well!

Looks like a nice experiment. I'm tagging along.

look beautiful, unspoiled

That's a neat idea. I have a dry branch of "Tonga" somewhere that I never used and once thought about doing the same thing with some GSP or maybe some zoas. Other encrusting species like some Montis could work well too.

My LFS had one of those one time that was completely covered in Radioactive Dragon Eye Zoanthids one time. It was kind of cool though because they kept some of the contours of the skull such as the eyes & nostrils pruned so it gave the illusion of some depth. Very cool!

Yes very cool. It's subtle enough that some people won't see it immediately and their reactions could be amusing.
