My mixed reefs ...

Well just got my reef's moved over to my new house, everything is starting to become stable again figured I would document my new additions and keep a journal of my upkeep / additions...

I'm not one to like doing water changes or dosing so I try and keep things low maintenance and stable ... easy corals

This means I change carbon once every 2 weeks and have a massive 120 watt algae turb scrubber on the 120 and a 15w chaeto refuge on the 40g ...
They are both running swc 150 skimmers that I may need to clean / reconfigure as not much skim-ate is forming

I currently have 140 watts of led over the 120 with a 10k t5

and a 14k 250w mh over the 40g

I plan on adding zoes acros, blastos, brains, chalices, plates and other lps to the 120.
Thinking of adding my tribal blenny in qt and adding a wrasse, goby, and some sort of Anthia school ...
Currently houses a dotty back, fu man chu lion, two tomato's, a naso, brown, and salfin tang.

thinking of adding a clam, sps, and some softies aka sponges / leathers to the 40g...

Currently the 40 has a clownish pair was thinking of adding a wrase, blenny, goby, firefish ...

Your 120 looks super fantastic! Beautiful. I really like the asymmetry of the rock work.

If I may be so bold, the rock in your 40 looks likes its piled in the corner of your garage. That piece of branch on top is especially distracting. And, unless its a "display" thermometer, I'd move that around the side. Please, no disrespect intended. You obviously know what you're doing. I just think you could make it look better.

Yeah I'm more concerned with making sure there is enough room for new fish, I was trying to keep all the rock for when I ever get a larger tank in a few years ... The tangs have already grown a lot for a year and my female tomato is getting huge and becoming a nipping terror ...

Things where getting dirty so I changed media and cleaned the protein skimmers ...

Tanks where starting to look like **** after my fu man chu and naso fought and killed each other ... was kind of a major bummer for abit as they wher my fav two fish that I has trained to be hand fed ...

Skimmer still is on the if ... hoping this added refuge bucket will help with my algae in the tank ...

Also decided that I'm going to have the water for my reef go through to ro filters before going to a a di ... I have a 2000gpd whole house ro but the ppm comes out at 50 due to my high 600ppm well ... I am sick of changing my large di filter after 2 months ...

Also am starting to dose for alk on sat and wends nights ... but not yet willing to commit to testing mg and ca and dose for those ...

Have a handle getting the water clean ... Just have to start dosing cal and mag occasionally as well as for alk

Added 24watts more of 12k and 450nm Chinese led's to fill in shadows and get more of a daylight look ...

Going to see if I can trade for some more lps soon ... coral seem fine with all led ... after a year

Now have 100 watts of Chinese white blue led chips and the 48" BML custom fixture
