My new 180g

Mike, is the sump a new tank, or your old 55gallon? I can bring the hole saws, no problem. Which size do you need?

The sump is my old 55 gallon, but it's the 30 gallon fuge I need to drill for a 1.5" sced 80 bulkhead. The one I put 1 mark on is the size I need.

Thanks Scott,
Mike

wHERE ARE YOU GOING TO THE THE SUMP? it looks nice on its own stand. Are you going to have any type of resavoir under the main tank?

ah, now I get it. Are you going to put the fuge next to the main tank? Is the main tank going where the computer is now?

We turned the computer desk to block the window so the new tank can go where the old tank was. The fuge is short enough that it will fit under the counter outcropping from the kitchen island, 90 degrees from the main tank with the chiller right in the corner.

For everyone who tried to post last night but couldn't, It looks like it's fixed now. I got a ton of email notifications of new posts, so I know people were trying! :)

Well, another promised day has come and gone. On Thursday they said it would maybe be here Friday. On Friday, they said it was on the truck in Phoenix, would be delivered Monday. Today I called 3 times and went down there once. The guy (who is grumpy by nature) was irritated with me bugging him and said as much. I blow it off because I know that's how he is.

But anyway, he said he talked to the guy this morning and it was definitely on the truck and it would definitely be here today, that he would call me either way.

Just venting. :) Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to post pics of it sitting in my living room... But I have a hunch it probably won't be till Thursday.

What's sad is that there are only 2 places in town, and with grumpiness bugging both stores it's hard to tell which one you are talking about. lol.. I have my guess though. Anyways, if you need any help, (when it finally does arrive) let me know.

since I do order from the same place I am guessing they delayed the tank. I had a tank take 4 weeks to get since the first one was chipped in transit. These things happen with such heavy tanks.

Jason, I'm sure you can guess which one. :)

Rob, he told me he confirmed that it was on the truck and it would be here without a doubt and to stop calling - said I was bugging him. He said the truck is coming, it might be late, and he was going to wait for it. He also said he would call if it didn't come in, but didn't. It would have been nice if my wife and I could have gone out to dinner for my birthday last night, but instead I was sitting at home waiting for his call.

It's a true sign that there's only 2 stores in town when the guy can yell and belittle his customers and still have customers.

Oh, and it's been about 7 weeks. It first came in 2 weeks but was cracked so I had to send it back. It's taken another 5 weeks to get it back.

msm i know just how your feeling...lol...when i got my tank from that dude it took 6 weeks for me to get mine...he told me maybe 3 but we all know how that went..lol....i hope ya get it soon...if ya need help ya got my number....rich
ps. i did the same thing by checking in all the time...and he told me the same crap that he would call and didnt...the day i got my tank i found out that it had been there 2 days...so keep calling..who cares if your bugging him...its not like he paid the 900bucks...

Ok, I take it all back - I got the tank! :)

no cracks, scratches, dings, dents, or smears on this one? It looks like an awesome setup. I am glad it finally came in for you, I am eager to see the rest of the setup. :)

Thanks! They look so small in pictures...

I have the front skin done but not the doors so I'm not putting it on yet. I'll also take the canopy off while setting it up. I just wanted to see how it looked on! (and make sure it fit.......) :)

It was a pretty good first day. I got the closed loop completely plumbed. The only plumbing I still need to do after getting some more 1" PVC is to run the return through the chiller and fuge. We added all the water we had stockpiled. According to RC calculator, another 60 gallons will finish filling the tank and sump, another 25 or so for the fuge.
