My new 220 gal L shaped (pic intensive)

Ok so I decided to sell my old tank and get me a new one.
This is the old one:

It was acrylic, and I had many problems:
Acrylic is very clear but it scratches so easily, so everytime I cleaned I had to use all kinds of precautions and clean the fiber everytime, it was anoying :mad2:

Not only that, but the euro brackets get on the way so much, they make cleaning and everything else so hard.
And finally, acrylic is an algae magnet, coraline and diatoms grow on the glass and they are much harder to remove.
I also got tired of T5s and crouching in order to clean the skimmer, etc.

So this new L shaped tank is going to use glass and it is not really L shaped: It is two tanks positioned in an L and a sump right in the corner.

Why not just make it a true L?. Because I want to keep flasher wrasses in the small tank, and since they jump, then I´m gonna put an acrylic lid with small holes in the tank which is 50 gal, and use T5s and keep LPS in it.

And the big tank is 150 gal, like the old one, and its going to keep all other habitants under 3x250 hqi + 2x80watt t5 and rimless!.

But since I wanted a lot of transparency like acrylic, I chose the most transparent glass out there "Ultra white" by Guardian, which is like .5% more transparent than Starphire:lolspin:

Left: normal glass, Right: ultra white:

The cabinet is full of doors, and the back part as well and the doors are half the size to have space for cables etc. Everything is so accesable now, and don´t have to bend anymore, and the pump is so much stronger since it doesn´t have to lift water!.

I still need to finish the small tank for LPS and flasher wrasses!.

Thanks. The tank is in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The fish list right now is the following:

1 sailfin tang
1 hippo blue tang
1 mystery wrasse
2 clownfish
1 cb butterfly

I want to add:

1 royal gramma(although the ones they sell here in Mexico only eat live foods)
1 midas blenny
1 yellow tang (perhaps)

And the small tank is reserved for flasher wrasses, I want:

1 lineatus flasher wrasse
1 blue flasher wrasse
1 carpenter´s wrasse

very nice and great pictures. What are those braces on the bottom of the tank? I have never seen a rimless tank with braces inside the tank...is that just for support?

Yes, it is a rim but at the bottom, Its also for support and it will probably me invisible once I add sand.

What do you think of my photoperiod?

HQIs 6 hours from 11 am to 5pm
T5s 5 hours from 5 pm to 10 pm

Should I reduce the photoperiod of the T5s 1 hour?

You know, it seems that shorter photoperiod = more growth and color is a popular topic nowadays.

Very kool, I like the way you have your sump on top. Its like an all in one system. How gallons is the sump?

Yeah its very practical, no need to bend anymore, that´s why I wanted it that way. Its about 36 gals, and we´re being careful right now not to overflow it in case of a power failure, since I´m not gonna use check valves this time (they require cleaning and reduce flow). So its all a matter of doing calculations of the maximum water level it should have in case there´s a power failure.

And then it will get simplier since I´m gonna add an ATO with a freshwater reservoir inside the cabinet.
