My new 240 RR. Ya baby!

I think I got the picture thing now. Here are a few pictures so far. I picked up the tank in Manassas Va on sunday. I've been working on the stand and hope to have it together soon. For now the tank is in my sunroom.

Toby likes the tank.

I would recommend going directly to Paul at OM for insight on how to run the CL using the 4 -way or 8 way. You could still use an 8 way and hook 4 returns into the 4 return bulkheads and then run 4 over the top of the tank. 200 plus gallons is a good size volume of water. Paul was extremly helpful to me and actually contacted my by phone do discuss all the particulars for my system/design. His help was invaluable IMO. I actually was looking at a slightly lower priced unit on Ebay, but opted to go direct with Paul due to his support and help. Actually I'm glad I did in hind site as I had a small issue with mine when I fist hooked up and Paul was able to help solve over the phone. I highly recommend that you log onto the OM website ( if you haven't already) and search for system designs similar to your tank size/parameters. Paul will also help with pump selection/recommendation based on the flow rate you want to achieve. There are numerous ways to skin the kitty if you know what I mean? Good luck

Thanks for the responses and I will go to OM for that. I'm thinking of using OM Revolutions for top water motion on the returns. I'm still a ways away from final decisions so fire away any sugestions. Thanks
Angelo

I looked at the revolutions and I think they would work great for your tank. I'd say go for it! When you get into the throws of the closed loop and have any questions or need any help PM me. I'd be happy to provide my input.

Thanks and I will keep that in mind. Not much to report tonight, hope to have more done over the weekend.

I took a couple of pictures of the stand tonight after I put the first coat of stain on it. I will put another coat on tomorrow and see the color.

I can almost smell the salt water.

I made the doors for the stand tonight. Just put the first coat of stain on.

Here's a shot of the cabinet after the second coat of stain. I still need to put the bottom in the stand. I can do that last.

I'll be taking down the old tank this week. I'm not sure what to do with it just yet.

I spoke to Paul as well over the weekend. He said the same to me. I'll be using the 4-way instead. The problem I'm having now is what pump to use. The tank is drilled with (5) 2" holes for 1" bulkheads. The overflow is drilled with (2) 2" and (1) 2.75" holes of which I'll be using (1) 2" hole for the return and the 2.75" hole for the drain. The other 2" hole in the overflow I'm thinking about combining it with one of the (5) 2" closed loop holes so I can get a larger pump. I want to achieve around 20x turn over. Any ideas? I'm keeping sps.
