Nick...You will have to stop by some night after work and tell me what you think after you look at them under the new lights. I've put some both in the cube and the 75.

Looking good Chuck. You see those chains you are using? Those would rust in about 20 minutes in my tank room.

It will probably happen here I suppose, rope didn't work, and I was tired running back and fourth to the hardware store, so these will have to do for a while. I thought that I had the holes in the rafters planned out pretty good only to find that it is exactly over the tank... My last check, the bulbs are 10" off the water...

It probably won't take long to rust out that PC too.. FYI

 I wonder how those server boxes are doing anyway?

That looks great Chuck! If later down the road you change out the chains with something else and feel like it, you could cut those wires down much shorter, just keeping what you need rather than having to look at that bundled stuff on top. The height looks good too.

You did good.

Thanks jnarowe.
I too like the tank. There is just something so sleek about a rimless tank.
Thank you! The more that I look at it now that there are lights over the tank the better it look to me too.

Surprisingly, the humidity stays very low in my basement, and the whole house for that matter, less than 30% most of the time.

I love it, it looks so sharp!
Thank you! Now that it's done, it's inspired me to do something with the other cube I picked up. Just not sure what to put in it??

Thank you! I thought about cutting the wires but decided against it in case I had done some thing wrong and needed to change things around. Now that it is up and working, I don't think that it will be much of a problem shortening them up.

For 2 1/2 days, I struggled with this darn canopy trying to get every thing planned out and put together and working. More than once, I asked myself why I just didn't purchase a light fixture to put over the tank, hang it and plug it in. Would have been so much easier. My carpentry skills and experience is very limited so the whole project was a big challenge.

Your help & slide show made it easier and now that it is done and up and running, I feel much better. It's not something that you would hang over a tank in your living room, but for my needs, I think that it will do fine.

Laer today I will check the PAR values for the tank.

Clam lagoon!:D

well Chuck for your first time you did a very nice job. congrats.

looks like there are plenty of ric for the wife to choose from also :D I really like the setup, It fits them real nice.

One thing that I may suggest is to somehow waterproof the wood, either with polyurethane, or a water proof primer.
