Recently upgraded from a 40br to a 75g tank-corals were getting too big & my flow was definatly not cutting it. Had a bad hair algae & a little cyno outbreak towards the end so I removed 1/2 my rock & did a acid bath on it & got 30lbs of fresh new rock & seeded it for 6 weeks. Scrubbed the remaining rock & sprayed it with peroxide gave it a good rinse & set up the 75g with 100% new R.O. that mixed for 2 days. Let it run a week & added a massive clean-up crew to clean up any remaining algae, Corals all made the transfer but lost some color. I am going BB this time & tripled the flow-Also no rocks on the glass!. Tank has been set up 7 weeks now with no sign of any hair algae. The lighting is-3 Blue+ 2 Coral+ & 1 Purple+ & flow is-1MP10 2 Kor1400(on controller) & a MJ sureflow mod on back bottom glass. Alk is 8-8.5 CA is 420-450 & SG is 34-35. First the old tank(40br)

You can't beat reef octopus for the price, I have nw110 on my 50 gallon. I had another question for you, do you like the coral+? I just got mine I am hoping to see a improvement in color on my sps.

Thanks-All my corals were started as frags. Tank is almost 2yrs old & I've fragged the large colonies quite a bit. I really like the coral+ so I bought another one, I used to run 4 blue+ & 2 purple+ but some of my corals didn't look as good as they should. Now with the 2 coral+ they're starting to look alot better!!.

Beautiful 75G tank. :thumbsup:

How is the tank doing?

Did you get any algae issues since you started the thread? - If I upgrade next year, I intend to get a select few rocks to seed and want to re-use all my old rocks.

Be nice to see updated shots. Tank looks sweet. I like to run bare bottom systems and am not sure what to go for my next tank...You cant beat the aesthetics of the sand, and at the same time I like the nutrient control ability of a bare bottomed system.

What are you running for filtration;
GAC?
GFO?
Pellets?
Other?

Thanks.
