My new addition: ID Please

Blue Stylophora? All I know is I've been drooling over this piece for weeks. Unfortunately I've developed a rule of three about me when it comes to corals I really like, but happen to be pretty pricey:

Step 1: See the piece for the first time, drool on the tank glass, talk myself into leaving without buying anything.

Step 2: Go back the the store a short while later, see that the piece is still there, and talk myself into getting something cheaper to try and fulfill my desire

Step 3: Go back about 10 hours after step 2 and empty my wallet.

I might save myself alot of time by just buying everything I see, but I think this saves me a little cash in the long run. Anyhow, this pic is right after acclimation. More to come, but for now a positive ID would help. If this isn't a stylo I'm not sure what it is

Nice. I figured I could count on you to ID this one Gary. I don't see what's "rainbow" about it, but I like it either way!

Was that piece from SWP? i almost purchased it the other day , but i got a little pink stylo instead.

That rainbow was def a nice size piece of coral. congrats!

SWP does not get talked about all that much but i always come across some good finds at that place.

Haha. It was at SWP! It's funny I actually bought a piece of that same pink stylo at first as well because I thought that would keep me from buying this piece. The next morning I was on the phone with Joe asking if I could use the credit from the pink stylo and just get this one. Although I traded it in, that pink was a great color. Very dark. I was just looking for somthing a bit larger

I like SWP..I go there often :) they are only about a mile from me lol

I really like SWP - been going there ever since I moved to WNY several years ago. Joe is pretty cool, and I love the remodel from last year. He has been getting in a lot of nice frags - my rule: don't plan on going and leaving empty-handed!

Oh, and sorry to hijack - nice frag! I have been contemplating on trying out either a species like this or a bird's nest ever since I moved out my derasa's....

can someone tell me what SWP - pm me if ya have to...but if there is a reef shop i haven't been to yet? i'd like to go check it out.....2 words....coral addict.

Salt water paradise go to saltwaterparadise.com. Site is a lil outdated.

yes it is a great reef shop! satwater only with a selection of corals and fish that will rival any.

thank you! (not that i don't love ya Cali...but if i'm driving out there? wanna make sure i see it all!)

You could always make some frags to get some of your money back!! I know I surely would take a piece if you decide to do it!! :D
