My new Anemone w/pics

Is Sailing the Seas
I wasnt supposed to get it till next Sat but the guy I got it from was able to meet me earlier. Its my first anemone & it seems pretty healthy. Its super sticky for sure. I wish I could get it to move more out in the front of the tank but I guesss il let it pick where it wants to be. I already have a black clown whats the chances of it hosting? So far theres been no interest. Anyway heres a few pics sorry about the quality & a couple full tank shots.

...Where's all the coralline? Your tank looks clean...too clean...how long have you had it set up?

The nem looks healthy, and I also love your aquascape...you've got some really great rock shapes in there.

I set it up Around May of 2007. Im just now beginning to get some coraline growth although you cant tell from the pics. I just recently started dosing to keep my calcium & alk up. Everything has been going good since set up. My of my corals came from my 75 but all the rock was brand new & I cooked it for a long time thats probably 1 reason that coraline has taken so long to show up there wasnt anythere ro begin with. I took awhile searching through tubs to find the rocks i got. Theres a couple pieces that weigh over 35lbs apice.

Looks healthy, not bleached. Nice rocks. Ocellaris might go to it, all bets are off. Stichodactyla haddoni isn't a natural host for ocellaris, but in aquaria they often co-habitate.

is there any clown that will readily host in this particular amenome? I can always move blackie to another tank if need be.

Clarkii is the best bet. A natural symbiont and hardy to boot. Get a very small clarkii if you decide to add one, the anemone should be three times the length of the fish.

watch out for your other fish disappearing too haddoni are notorious fish eaters.
A small clarks would be a nice chioce as it is likely to be less rough tha a A. polymnus or A.sebae.

i'd watch getting too small of a clown, that eel might have a free dinner one night!

that's actually a engineer goby its just full grown and in adult colors. He kinds creeps me out when I have my hand in the tank doing maintnance cuz he likes to brush up against me.

I have a haddoni like yours with a GSM clown hosting it. Ofcourse these are notoriously rough but mine is small and the carpet is about 10" in diameter. I also have an Ocellaris clown the tries to host it but the GSM will not allow it. If I took the GSM out the Ocellaris would be all over the haddoni. By the way, that is a bueatiful setup. I also really like the rock pieces you found.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm getting to clarkis this weekend for the anemone along with 3 onyx and a couple of skunks. These will all be on separate tanks of course. I got a guy local that breeds them on a large scale and has awesome fish.
