My new Angel

I always thought the Red Sea Regal Angels were the nicest of all the Angels, and I have had a lot of suggestions to feed my corals more (fish poop!) to get better colors, so here goes - just hope he doesn't decide he likes to munch on my Acro's.

Came from FAOIS, fat and eating like a pig, which is 90% of the battle with these guys. Hard to get a good photo because 1) they are never still, and 2) I suck at taking photos. (Never mind the PVC pipe and fake background......he is still in QT for now)

Anyone else around here have one ? Does it behave ?

definately going to be an addition to our new tank just have to get lights on it and transfer everything. you actually got a regal from the red sea and not the indian ocean a great fish and alot of people have them in reef tanks. I think proper collection is most of the battle actually. hope the poop works if not let me know and I will know by then if what I am trying works.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Rob, I passed on an Indian Ocean Regal. Just don't like they grey chest and I have always heard they were not as hardy & more prone to nip corals than these from the Red Sea. May or may not be true, but I read that often enough from different sources I wanted to stay away from them.

mattliu, when I picked mine up last week John said he had just received another one, sure he still has it as he keeps them in QT for a while himself. You can check with him for a price if you are interested.

Beautiful find David - I bet it will do great in your tank and make it look even more awesome. By the way, how is your Crocea doing?

Thanks again everyone.

LauraCline - my clam is actually a Maxima (Been a while since you saw it I know). Looks just a little bigger to me, but my wife thinks it is getting "huge".

robthorn - no meds. Angels are kind of delicate, so I'm just keeping an eye on him (her?), as well as give him a place to eat for a while without any competition. It's actually going in my tank Sunday. John had it 2 weeks before I picked it up, and I have had it 2 weeks. Looks healthy, is fat and eating, not very shy (around me anyway), so I think it's time to move it.

Oops, memory of names must not be too good. I do remember it was a gorgeous clam. Really bright and neat color patterns. Before I saw yours, I had no idea clams' mantles could be so amazing looking. Glad to hear it is thriving. If you happen to take any pics after you add the Regal, I hope we get to see them.

1st day in the main tank and it's eating along with everyone else and not skittish at all....that's a good sign. So far no interest in my clam, Acro's, Zoa's, or anything else, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. (They sure are hard to get a good photo of, they are never still)
