My new blue S. Haddoni!!!!

Absolutely amazing anemone's.
How are they around your SPS's and other fishes?

I would love to get one, but I was under the impression when fish sleep, they tend to float around. I wouldn't want my chevron or black tang "accidentally" roll over the nem and die.

I believe each time an animal is shipped, he has a chance to die due to shipping conditions and acclimation issues. There are probably many haddonis that survive the shipping from the Indian Ocean to LA, and many that do not survive. Of the ones that make it, some will make it into the aquarium and some will die too. Just because he survives being shipped once doesn't mean he'll survive again.

That's probably why LA quarantines the anemones for 1+ months; to bring it back to full health which gives it the best survival chances for the next shipping.
Thanks for the reply. I didn't realized they kept them for a month. But your assumption about casualties that we never see makes sense. So does that mean - regardless our of care - getting a haddoni shipped is a crap shoot?

I want one someday (in a bigger tank). But this seems to give great weight to waiting until I find a healthy on in an LFS.

Again, sorry it had to happen.
