NIIIIIICE! I like how some cesps show lots of glitter like yours.

Did you get this from Vince?

What kind of lights are they under?

I think my club got it out of town. I know there is someone in Tucson that has it as well I live in Gilbert the Phoenix area.

The Frag is under 250 DE Phoenix 14k
Thanks!!!

Is cespituaria still rare? Im like seeing it everywhere now... not to mention that we got in a huge colony of it a while back at my work, I have fragged it a zillion times, its a quick grower and the frags are pretty cheap.

i wouldn't call it rare anymore and considerinmg how fast it grows i bet the prices start to really come down , just like xenia did 100 years ago .....

I find the easiest way to frag them is to put a piece of rubble rock right near they body and within a few days, the cesp will start to move a piece of its body over, then you grab a razor blade and slice it. A piece of its body will be on the rubble rock and in a few more days will develop into another cesp.

They are not as rare in some areas and rare in other areas. I see pom pom xenia still sell for 19-30 so I'd imagine one day even if cesps become common, they wouldn't be dirt cheap.

i bet it does, this stuff grows faster than i remember Xenia ever growing, and i bet there will be another species from a differnt locality and that will be the " new must have species".. there's always somethig new coming in ........

Man I hope it grows like you guys are saying it does:0)
I am not in the market so sell I just want a big colony of it!!
I am thinking of fragin it like mike explained and placing my frags next to the mother colony to try to get it to spread even faster.
Thanks

put it under a 1000 watt 10k and a 400watt 20k and you will see it take off....if this stuff figures out how to breathe air it wil take over the world !!!!!!!

looks great , good luck with it. In a couple of month it will be 2 to 3 times it's size with good food and water quality...

truthdesigns.........awesome!!!! See how quick the xenia will move a piece of its body over to a piece of rock, etc? That litle tiny piece of flesh on the right, if you got a razor, you could slice it and that tiny piece of flesh will slowly become another small colony. Give it a try.

Glad the xenia doing great for you!
Mike

Beautiful!
I'm not familiar with this coral, though.. is it a kind of xenia?
Also, anyone near Wilmington NC want to sell me a frag of it? =)
Thanks,
