i made sure he was eating before i got him but since he has been in his new home he hasnt eaten. is this normal for clowns? or perhaps he misses his Host?

How long have you had him in your tank? It is normal for stressed fish to stop eating for awhile but they should be back to normal after a few days, especially Clownfish.

started eating today, sorry i posted in wrong section, and i reposted in correct section after i realised my error.

Maybe get him a rbta in a couple of days if hes still not eating.

Getting an anemone will most likely not make any difference, besides the fact that they are not the easiest inverts to keep alive.

My first clownfish took about 3-4 days to start eating. At first he was only interested in frozen brine shrimp, but then started to eat anything. What have you been trying to feed it? If you don't already use frozen/fresh foods I highly suggest you pick up some frozen mysis; all of my fish love it.

yeah i use a mix of frozen brine and myiss shrimp and then use rods food twice a week.

My tank has only been setup going on 3 months hence no rbta, i have the lighting for it but this is a sumpless tank and im figuring it to take more time to mature then normal because of this. I have rushed into enough things and lost them and short of giving up i just need to take more time because of my limited experiance and equipment. although i could not resist this goldstripe maroon because of this mis malrkings and they had him for so long.
