Okay so I just purchases a dussi tang which I have been on the hunt for two years! I also picked up a vlagimi tang at the same time and they are both in a 70 gallon tall qt tank..
Couple of questions.
1. I used cycled tank water along w some new fresh salt water to set up the tank. I know that the tank could still ammonia spike? So how frequently should i change water? 5 gallons every 3 days, with two feeding daily?
2. If I am medicating the tank and the meds have to stay for 5 days then do i still change the water?
I have had the fish since thursday and have not changed any water yet.. I did add rock rubble pieces in the hang on filter in case that helps at all.
Ok, so the important part.. From the pics its very hard to tell whats going on.. But it look is like he has grayish whitish spots on some parts of his body.. If you look really close they seem to be fluke worm/flat worm(which I know are not really visible since I have had them on wrasses and treated/saw when I did fresh water dips)these are pretty visible and move .. I just saw one on his body, slightly detach and then change position.. They patches seem raised and alive (they flap like a wave..)So the spots are whats left after these worm are eating him i would think, they are like leeches! Ill try to get a pic w my iphone, these are taken on my canon and i cant get a clear shot.
The place I got them said he runs copper and prazipro and I know he has had the fish for several months,,, but the place was pretty big w thousands of gallons of water so I doubt the prazi pro even worked..
I treated w macaryn two but I didnt have enough powder,, I was about to pick up more but this clearly looks like a worm of some sort,,
So my plan is... unless Im wrong, to do a 5 gallon wc later today the prazipro the tank change the water after 5 days (10 gallons) then run prazi again? ill take it from there?
I usually just hyposalinty ever tang i get, but this must be taken care of first.. They both are eating very well.. Im feeding spectra thera A dipped in vita chem and garlic..
Please help:headwally:
