He showed up at a frag swap one time with the best looking pink digitata I have ever seen. He got the original from me so I knew what it was supposed to look like. He said he grew it under shop lights. I wouldn't have believed it either except for two things:

1. He's a preacher and most preachers don't lie like that (unless they're on TV).

2. I went to his house and saw it with my own eyeballs.

Well, I had a couple of setbacks.

First I had both top braces break on the 225 Thursday night. More about that in another thread.

Next, I started filling the frag tank and the bulkhead fitting on the return line started leaking. On further investigation I realized that I had the gasket on the wrong side of the glass. Since the bulkhead fitting was not threaded, I had glued a piece of pipe into both ends. That meant that I could not get the nut off (and reuse it). With the help of Mr. Dremel it turned loose. Luckily I found another one at the Aquarium Shop. It was threaded (I think they all should be).

And with the hood installed and lights on. I don't have quite enough water in the sump to run the return pump and connect the heaters.

Yikes your top braces broke on your 225? Did the tank start leaking or did it just start bowing? If you haven't already a couple of clamps can hold things together so you can replace the braces.
Sorry to hear about all your issues. Looks like the Frag tank is getting there.

I drained a couple of inches out and I'll drain out about 1/4 of the water tomorrow. Right now it's in survival mode.

And get that thing emptied asap. We found out that the reason the first church tank failed was because someone had compromised the euro-bracing around the top. The leak was actually at the bottom, though, so I guess that you can never be sure where the failure will take place.

Sorry about your troubles. What are you using for filtration on your frag tank?

I intend to put some LR rubble in the sump and do weekly water changes. If I need to I'll put a skimmer in the sump.

If I may I would like to make a suggestion about your new tank. I would cut the frag rack in 2 pieces or even 4 pieces. I have had some pretty valuable frags fall through the holes or get blown off the plugs and end up under the rack. With one big piece I had to remove all the frags and lift the rack out just to get to it.

Just a thought.
