It is going to have Black Tahitian moon sand about 2 to 3 inches deep I am going to try to have most of the live rock poundage in the filtration section and keep the aquascaping to a minimum.
I want to have a small mountain on the left and on the right a reef following the side glass to the front.
In the middle i Would like another mini cave. Scattering pieces around the tank that after he has them where he wants them i will glue misc frags to.
My goal is to have random Palys on the scattered rock and micros/acan on the cave's

I will have 2 maxi-jet 1200's most likely set up on a JBJ ocean pulse.
The lighting is a 4x24 watt Tek retrofit I traded Juin.

Thanks I gave him all the dimension and even had a guy make 3b renderings so i could have it just like i wanted.

Pseudosquilla ciliata Yellow one.
It should be set up by the end of the weekend.

Oh, a custom tank? I like the behind the tank built in refugium thing. I'd go with 3-4 inches of sand for burrowing. Also it will probably stay yellow, but your the P. ciliata could change colors, making it black, which is still pretty cool. Can't wait for pictures!

Dan

P.S. P. ciliata is one of my favorites :D

Very cool tank! Can you explain how the plumbing and water flow works?

I've been working on the design of a similar looking tank but it is actually a sump/fuge for my main tank. The overflow from the display tank would enter your left chamber, then part of it flows into the front part through the overflow teeth, the rest continues through the back where the skimmer is and into the right chamber where the return pump is.

I think yours is more of a self contained setup, but it's exactly how I want mine to look.

Can't wait to see yours (and mine) running. Pleas add more pics!

The display area is the same as a 15L more or less.
The entire lay out measure 28 long by 16 wide
the fuge area eats up 4 inches and measures 4 wide by 28 long in total.
Each chamber measures 6 long except for the refuge which is 10.
Each baffle is like 9 inches tall and the tank itself is 10.
I might not be able to do 4 inches of sand as it might eat up to much height but i have 40 pounds of moon sand to work with so i will go as high as i can.

The rear is the same as your standard all in one tank.
It flows in to the overflow chamber which has a Maxi-jet 1200 and will have a bunch of liverock.
then under the baffle and in to the second chamber which will house a tunze 9002 when i buy it.
from there it flows over the baffle and in to the refuge which measure 10 long and 4 wide.
that will have a livesand base/rock with various macros.
Over the baffle again and in to the 4th chamber which houses another Maxi-jet 1200 and the heater.
on both returns i have Y loc-lines with flare nozzles.
I am planning on using a JBJ ocean pulse for wave making.

Well I got it set up for the most part and now it is time to toss in some filter floss to help scrub floaters out of the water.

Installing the retrofit kit was not as bad as I had feared.
The flow is just about what I had wanted so this is looking like a go so far.
I have to figure out which pieces of rock i want to bring from home and then pick up a few more more pounds of live rock/rubble to finish her off.
I will post up some pics Monday once it has all settled down wink.gif

OK OK I remembered my camera today Sheesh....
Well i still need some more liverock but i am having a bit of a time finding ones I like.
My Mantis is in transmit and should be here later today :)

Its pretty darn bright I do not have my wave maker yet but I will soon.
then I will need my Tunze skimmer and i will be done.

Liverock is just tossed in as I do not have all that I want yet.

Rite now he is at work with the lights off getting used to his new home.
Hopefully in the morning everything will be cool so i can get some pics of him.
