Woooow. I have always watned yashas! And a pair *wolfwhistle*
just gorgeous. Great fish choices.

From my understanding, pairing gobies isn't easy. I don't even think it's recommended to have two of the same gobies in a 100g tank, unless they're a true pair. He got his as a true pair, so there won't be any fighting over territory, etc in a small tank.

And THEN to pair with a pistol, takes a lot of luck, a little patience, and a lot of time.

For what's it's worth, I'd spend $150 on them, but I've gone through 2 gobies. None seem to make it, and neither one burrowed or made his home in front of the rocks so I can see him.

Sucks. But life goes on. And I just keep looking once I see some blennies, gobies, etc.

Korrine,

If you had to have one, would it be the Picasso's or Yashies?

Also, the Yashies may eventually show lots of aggression on another goby in the 29g you have.

Usually, you get a pair like you have, or a single goby, and call it a day.

Be very careful with both gobies in the 29.

If I had to choose I'd choose the picasso's. They are out and add more action/movement to the tank.

The gobies never go more than an inch away from their burrow. That's why I added the clown. The clown sits on rockwork and the goby in the sand. It was an $8 chance that I was willing to take due to different habitats and habits. :)

Cool. Usually clown gobies are perchers, whereas the Yashie's stay in/close to their burrow.

Please, keep a watchful eye, because we all saw how nasty the Yashie's got when the Picasso's were swimming by.

Good luck,

I'll watch my lil fishies. Don't worry :D They get watched by 5 pairs of eyes throughout the day(I don't go back to work until July 20 so all 3 kids are home w/me during the day).

Plus, something tells me that if the clown goby goes that close that the yasha's put on a show I'll doubt he'll go there again.

Also I think it helps that I do have a shrimp with the yasha's. Makes them stay closer to home, I think. Compared to what I've read anyway. I think I've had the yasha's since mid-April.

Well my clowns have some issues :(

Brook maybe?? They are ORA fish, though?? I don't know anyhow my bigger one has developed a white fuzzy spot on her cheek and it seems as though the gills are inflamed. Like she holds them out a bit.

The smaller clown has white fuzzy spots on the front fins and around his anus in the back. A tidbit above his anus I guess. Gills seem normal for him, though...I'm not a happy camper.

those are some nice looking clowns......I really like the clown goby too, I've always wanted to get one
