My New Possum Wrasses

Today I was lucky enough to find two possum wrasses that ATE PELLETS right in front of me at LFS. One is yellow banded and the other is white banded possum wrasse. They are getting along fine so far in a 20 gallon tank for coral grow out with 45 lbs of live rock...lots of hiding spots. You can see the yellow banded wrasse dead center in the photo and the white banded right behind him.

I was initially worried that they wouldn't get along. They were hanging out together this morning. Having all that rock in there must be helping.

Anyone know what these yellowish spongy looking things are growing out of my brain coral? Will it be a problem?

That's a really good deal I have one lfs near me out of 12 or so that can order me one but they want $80 for a single fish and honestly niether of my tanks would hold him safely I already have dominant larger wrasses in them

I've seen quite a few of them on DD lately. With the sale they are having this weekend you can get one for around $50. I've always wanted one and had seen plenty for sale before. However, these are the first possum wrasses that ate pellets at a fish store. The next fish I would like to get that I am yet to see eat pellet food is Sunburst/Fathead anthias. When I travel the fishes get fed with an automatic feeder. That's why pellet diet is important for me

Great little fish for a reef tank. I have a little Tanaka which is very similar. They are for the most part very secretive fish who poke in and out of the rock work all day. I have to watch my tank closely for signs of mine every so often to be sure he's still alive LOL.

Tanakas are nice too. I had a pair a year ago. Couldn't get them to eat pellets so the wrasses went back to LFS.

I have one w. albofasciata in my 22g nano. Very cool fish. I had some flatworms and this little guy cleaned house.

Watching them eat pellets is wonderful and very satisfying. I've waited for 3 years to find possum wrasses that eat them. Some updated pics
