My new pump by Maytag

I'm doing the water test on the 150 and the leaks are at a manageable level.

I have the noise from the overflow at an acceptable level, the sump is still a problem I'm working on. There is still burping in the sock and the sound of 2500gph flowing is very noticeable, I cant hear much from the skimmer but its hard to tell.

But OMG that Dart hurts my ears it is not as high pitched as the old Iwaki 1000 but is twice as loud, it sounds like a washing machine in here.

My Darts did that for about 30 hours. Now 2 are absolutely quiet and 1 still has a little noise.

what are you getting out of that, 7000 GPH? 20x turnover, how sweet it is!

Mike, is the one making the noise on the skimmer? It might be the head pressure.

I hope it gets better, it is unacceptable like this. Maybe I should have gone with the 2 T4s.

The noisey one is the sump return. More head on that one than the closed loops. I have 2 Pan World 150PS pumps on my skimmer.

24 hours and its still as loud as a train!

Brian, the 2 Darts on closed loops with almost no head are probably pushing about 3000 gph each, and the sump return is probably about 2200 gph.

36 hours and a little better But I'm thinking I'm going to still have to do something about the noise.

Man my 1 PanWorld 100px-x is loud enough. I could not imagine 3 pumps on a system and then another on the skimmer as well.

my dart is the loudest thing on my whole system.it isnt unbearable but it is kind of loud.once you get used to it you dont even hear it.

It is getting better after 48 hours, but still has a nice hum to it. I can hear it over all the water noise (which I know I can get rid of 90% of)

A 180g 48"x36"x25" very nice....I saw Glasscages had a green glass that size for $400.

Man Greg - all you guys talking about the noise from the Dart, might have to look for another pump.

Yeah - it's not the cost of the tank it's everything you need to get running and keeping it running that breaks the bank. Of course I don't need to tell you that with your new 150.

I bought the 3 Darts because everyone says they're so quiet. That's true for 2 of mine, but 1 is still noisey. I'm going to try to put a rubber mat under it and see if that helps. I want to make sure that it's not vibration resonance.

yeah glasscages is where i saw the size 48x36x25 and started me thinking.i guess i need to make some sumps to help me buy a NEW TANK

I have a pan world 100px on my return and my over flow is louder then the pump and I have a durso stand pipe. I have had little giant and iwaki in the past and I am very happy with the performance of the pan world and how quit it is. I will be defiantly
buying pan world in the future.

Don't get me wrong I love my Panworld 100px-x but I hate the noise my tank is making. My wife really really hates the noise which is more of the issue I have a rubber mat under the pump but I think the noise is coming from the wood of the stand. I think there is a slight bow under the bottom piece sitting on the carpet which is making it all louder than it should be.

At least that is what I tell the wife and well you know, you cannot break the tank down to move it after setting it up like this
