LOL... I thought you might be thinking, since the oral disk does look a lot like that of a mertensii. However, take a look at the first photo again, and check out the reflection on the side wall of the tank -- no verrucae. :dance:

Hahaha, good call!

What would the foot look like if it was a mertensi?

You would see lots of little orange/brown dots called verracue all over the foot.

Yea not sure what lighting the OP is running but it was much more purple in my tank. It's a beautiful carpet and I only sold it to make room for my magnificent. Still looks very healthy though.
