My New Rainbow Acans

Thought I'd share a pic (crappy cell phone pic) of my new Rainbow Acans.

Colors are awesome.

Update: Acans didn't last 1 week. After about 48hours they started receding, then basically dissolved into nothing.

Light Placement - Location is bottom to mid in the tank (30" deep) so I'm not burning them.

Flow Placement - Location is almost exactly in the middle of the tank to provide moderate flow.

Purchased at local LFS (although I'm not holding the LFS accountable).

I use Radions and haven't lost a single coral or fish since the day the tank wsa setup.

This frag was part of a much larger colony (that I saw before the fragging), I purchased the frag about 4 days after the frag process. I guess it just didn't make it through the frag process.

LFS still has a frag or two left, so I may wait a week or two and see how their frags recover....and try again.

Pretty bummed.

What kind of lighting were they under at the lfs? Radions might have been too much for them

May well be the same ones. I know my LFS picked them up from a dealer in Florida. They are really cool Acans.

I looked last nightunder the red light and it "appears" I may have one small head trying to fight back.

Any suggestions on anything I can do to help it?

The best thing to help it out a bit, is to try feeding it a little. So maybe a mysis shrimp or a piece of pellet food. But otherwise, leave it alone.
