I have seen many percs host Haddonis before through pictures and in person but I have also heard many horror stories of Haddonis eating their percs.

sadly all the LFSs around here only have full grown true perc's at the moment. going to see what comes in next week.

still going to strongly recommend returning the iron and iodine. might want to ask the in the chemistry forum. you'll find most of us only dose calcium and alkalinty (or kalk, or whatever method we choose to raise them both) and regular water changes...

At my lfs, they have a green Haddoni with a pair of false percs hosting.

i have a pair of false percs in a haddoni.

Also IME the mouth wont stay shut all the time, there is activity going on throughout the day/night. only for a long period of time is what i think can be worrisom.

hrmm, have to look into false percs.. my LFS has them alot. and they are small. which is a good thing.

has yet to deflate .. looks great =)
it seems to be responsive to its surroundings. a peppermint shrimp crawled on its back side and it curled up. for a second i thought it ate the shrimp.

but when teh shrimp left it returned to normal.

is it suppose to inflate / deflate constantly?
mine looks the same as it always has. it moves its .. arms? more like sections of its disk, up and down. its always a little diffrent everytime i look at it.

wow. im thrilled.!!! seriously!

my first major ( expensive ) creature .. and its a good one!!!

i thought my baby rbta was going to be it.. but it was kinda depressing ( im still nursing it and will try and get a pic of it )

Knock on wood please. Your not out of the woods yet. If it continues to thrive for the next 6 months then I would say your good. Sometimes Haddonis can take a long time to die and a first timer anemone keeper won't even notice and all of a sudden, your making a new thread about your red haddoni wondering why its mouth is gaping and why it won't eat. I am not saying this will happen, just that it has happened many times before.

Are you dosing your tank with additives? What kind of protein skimmer do you have?

BTW, nice Red Haddoni.

protein skimmer is a euro mock off i belive. its a dual needle wheel skimmer. no brand or stickers on it . picked it up used.. skims dry well wet it over flows a little fast so i just skim dry and toothbrush the gunk out once a day

additives.
i picked up some of the crazy iodine ( 1 drop per 25 gallons 2x a week ) by kent marine

i dose 1 drop of it a week in my overall about 60 gallon system. so im half the dose half the time ( so i dont over dose ) since many people hear say dont use iodine. and ill probably after a few weeks. only dose when i do a water change.

i bought a bottle of iron but have yet to dose it.
i drip kalkwasser. about 1 drop every 3-4 seconds. not sure if thats to fast or not. but the bottle said one pint an hour per 50 gallons. so i think im a little on the safe side still. i started dosing it last night i made 2 quarts of it and its still more than half full.

im also adding " coralline stimulator " the 10 dollar bottle . instead of purple up because well.. it all adds up lol...
going to give it a month and if i dont see any crazy improvement ill also dose purple up
