My diving schedule for the next week + is as follows:

Friday ----- *tentative* night dive in West Palm Beach
Saturday -- shore dive in West Palm
Monday ---- Key West
Wednesday - Grand Cayman
Thursday --- *tentative* Jamaica

Depending upon time, I may try to swing by Ginnie Springs on the way home from Ft.Lauderdale on Saturday.

rub it in why dont ya... :(

Mine:

Friday: shore dive in a lovely bromine filled pactice pool
Saturday: day trip to balmorhra spring in TX, should be ok..

Who you diving with in GC?

rub it in why dont ya... :(

Yeah, no kidding. :)

I hit Nassau Saturday, but due to our arrival time and departure time being so close together - get this - I won't have time to dive.

...So Kym and I are going to go on one of their shore excursions to the resort of Atlantis. They've got a deepwater dolphin encounter that includes snorkeling with scooters while you play with the dolphins. That ought to be pretty cool.

We're also seeing Blue Man Group when we get back, in Orlando... And I've got two friends to visit and one mother-in-law to visit... So...

I'm going to Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, and the Bahamas for a week, and I'm not going to get to dive.

I can't believe it. :( It's like a cruel joke that life's playing on me! Looks like I'll need another vacation within a month - a DIVE vacation. :D

What cruise line are you going on, Tim? I think we'd be more interested in a more dive-friendly cruise next time... Maybe even a liveaboard.

i cant wait to see BlueMan group. (the wife and i want to see them so bad.)
when we got married, i took her to Disney in Florida, and we went to see "Cirque Du Soleil - La Nouba"
that was Fantastic.
let me know how it goes. and what you think. (have you seen any Cirque Du Soleils?)

sorry for jacking the thread.......

Never seen the Cirque. I hear it's incredible.

When I turned 36, I told my wife that I wanted to see Blue Man Group for my 40th birthday. Since the show is generally a Las Vegas landmark, I figured that I was up for a plane flight and a hot desert for my birthday. I used to live in Tucson, and went to Vegas frequently - so I really wanted to see old friends and Vegas again.

As my 40th approached, I found myself slammed - and headed for a Bahamas cruise right around my birthday. As much as I was looking forward to the cruise, I felt a nag that I wasn't going to get to live the 40th birthday dream of Blue Man.

Imagine how floored I was to find that they just so happen to be in Orlando - right up the street from our Ft. Lauderdale port - for my birthday. Our cruise gets back the day before.

How random is that? Coincidence? Dunno... Maybe it's a birthday present from God. :D

I can't wait to see Blue Man. :)

TTU, I can't wait to see your Blue Wing. :D You must be so excited...

blue man is GREAT. I was luck enough to see them in vegas and loved it. Your goign to enjoy it.

Other than blue man Vegas isnt my cup of tea really...

stand by for pictures tomorrow!!!

Sweet! :D

What should I expect? Or am I better not knowing?

You know, I dive pretty much every day (although the last couple of months have been sparse due to extreme freakin' COLD). You'd think I'd get tired of diving or something... But it just gets better and better. Am I ill?

I think TTU should get out the blue face paint and take a picture with his blue wing. Just as a b-day present for sea-jay.

HA HA..very funny :uzi:

and seajay yea its one of those shows you dont want to know too much about going into it, it will suprise you in a good way. enjoy it, sit away from the front if you wanna stay clean :eek2:

correctly done?

only complaint, is the oxycheq STA top screw isnt long enough to go through the wing, STA, harness hole, and back plate all in one. Im going to homedepot to find a longer screw now.

top cam strap is on perfectly with 1/4inch longer screw. Its not a SS screw its zink plated...im thinking it will rust?

it was $0.15 so I dont mind for now..

SO excited to dive this thing..

I got a picture of it on il post in a second!

it will rust.... (just letting you know)
it will work for the pool, but dont forget to pick one up in the near future.

that looks good by the way. (i cant wait to see it in person)

i also like the cam lock for the tank.... i dont like the Velcro ones that some BC's have (im new to this game, but that is my opinion)

Great photos! :)

A 30# wing isn't tiny - an 18# wing is tiny! :) Keep in mind that a smaller wing makes you much faster and more efficient in the water. :) Believe me, it's to your advantage. :)

30# will be plenty of lift until you get into drysuits or doubles (in which case you're going to need a doubles wing anyway if you go that route).

I can see how a 30# wing seems tiny if you're used to big wings that have 60# of lift or more. You'll be astounded how much better this is for you.

Have you dived it yet?

Yes, longer bolts may be necessary, especially if your webbing came with an eyelet installed instead of just a hole. Both are fine - but a longer bolt may be necessary if you've got an eyelet. Stick to stainless only to prevent rust, which can quickly become a mess.

You have TWO cam bands on your rig, right?

Il have photos of it on me in mexico soon!!!

30# wing seems so small...im a big solid guy....if I drown because I cant ditch my weights, seajay expect alot of haunting in your near future ;) jk

I am diving it to test in dallas this weekend, then tuesday-sunday in cancun. one 40ft dive, two 60ft reef dives and one 85-90ft wreck dive.

now my personal new goal is to dive the Fujikawa Maru in the Turk Lagoon...150fsw...(right now my personal best is 115fsw) so i need to focus on logging some experience dives and learn deco diving...maybe the v planner too...one year goal.
