My new rockwork

Nicole,

NIce setup I like the open space almost like two separate reefs with a sandflat between the two.. If you are looking for some leathers I have some cabbage leather frags that are a nice size not too big and not too small they are just right. You can have them I do not have room for them.

Thanks, Jeff, but I am trying to keep the number of families (if not species) to a minimum. Probably the only other corals I will add will be a neon toadstool, unless something truly amazing comes along. Already my corals are much happier without so much competition, despite the move and me stirring things up!

More recent pics from this weekend, after I added some sand:

Better without the sandstorm, no?!

glad sarah could send you some! hopefully at least one of us can keep 'em going. i'm experimenting with walt smith's fiji mud, pink fiji, and a little southdown as a substrate.

i too love the open feel of the tank, i'm planning on something similar. nothing fancy as i like low stocked tanks and don't want to deal with hard corals, but i really, really, really want a little colony of acanthemblemaria sp. something about those little fellas i just love. i remember seeing a rock or a sponge with about five little heads sticking out just watching and waiting. cool little fish :)

Yeah, those little blennies are very cool! Mean suckers, though.

I have a mature sand bed, so I may have an easier time getting the grass established than you, although it sounds like your particle size is a better composition than mine and you might do better in the long run. I will probably establish a bed in my refugium, too... although I may decide to run that dark. Haven't decided yet.

Wish we could get Southdown here -- it's perfect for general sand beds, IMO.
