My New Tank Build & Transfer from 55 gallon to 90 Gallon. Sump WATER NOISE PROBLEM

i'll try the sandpaper right now. I need to buy new silicone, the old stuff I had didn't set up and it made a huge mess when I tried fixing that broken baffle!

Sandpaper worked like a dream, now the edges are nice and smooth! no more sliced fingers:bigeyes:

Transfer of live stock!

place sand in empty tank
place rock onto sand
pull all your coral and fish out and put into a bucket or tube full of water from your 55g
put as much water from your 55 into the 90 as you can
fill the rest with preferably filtered water matching the salinity and temp best you can
add coral and fish hope for the best.

I went from a 55 to a 120 with zero deaths!!!

Another thing to try instead of traditional baffles, not that they are bad, but I used to use a 'bubble tower' or at least that is what someone called it. Basically if your drain line is 1" PVC (or flex as it looks) go buy an 8" long piece of 2" PVC. Drill a couple holes at the bottom, and run your flex/drain into it. That way the bubbles stay in the larger tube, and water exits closer to the bottom with much less bubbles. I used it when my previous home built baffles were not great at removing air bubbles.
May not remove the noise but might help keep it in a smaller area. Just looked for a picture btu couldnt find one. Good luck!
