Looks good.Nice work on the stand.

Did you get the bulk heads figured out?

How's the canopy coming?
Got the bulkheads figured, thanks to RC and MASC!

I scrapped what I started on the canopy. It was going to be to flimsy. I am going to start full bore after getting the tank plumbed and filled.

I still got to build the 75 back into a fuge after taking all the rock out.

Thanks for all the positive comments. Colin, I can give you the link for the knobs.

Well last night I got the plumbing done! Thanks everyone for the help with the bulkheads!

Here is my plumbing (as best as you can see).

The Overflow is the 1" PVC and the return is the 3/4" PVC

Here is my return with a ball valve to control flow

The return pump is a RIO Hyperflow 17 which I think is underpowered for this tank. I may look into a Mag 12 or Mag 18 or maybe a QuietOne 6000. I need to save some cash first!

And now the pics that we (at least me) have all been waiting for!

WATER!

I put the sand in, the 200# of LR that has been cooking in the sump and water!

It is cloudy, but we have a SW tank!

Here is the makeshift sump until I get the real one baffled! See how big that darn skimmer is!

And the future Sump/Fuge all cleaned and drying out.

The build is looking good.

I Have a question for you. Are both your return lines (from the tank to the sump) tied into one line? If this is what you have done I would advise you to change that. A snail or hermit that goes for a ride could plug the line and cause your sump to be pumped on your floor.

I got the Sump/Fuge finished last night, built the canopy frame and finished the tank bottom trim over the weekend. I will post some pics tonight.

I put 2 frozen shrimp in there on Friday and saw a small bump in ammonia yesterday. Maybe 0.25 on the card. Should I put in another shrimp? Should I pull the two that are in there out?

It has been almost 2 years since I last cycled a tank so I am not sure.

Thanks, John

I think your fine. The rocks should take care of that ammonia nicely. I would start with an inexpensive fish to keep your cycle going if you want.

Everything is gorgeous. I must say I might steal an idea or two, to set up my 150.

Can't wait to see it after it's stocked.

Thanks! Feel free to steal whatever you like. I stole most of the ideas myself!

Well my wife decided to have people over last night so I had to entertain instead of get a lot of work done.

I did manage to get the fuge in place. It is a basic flow through model with the input on the left and the return on the right with a fuge in the middle. What a beast!

Here is the right side with the overflow into and the skimmer.

I am darn glad I built the stand tall as the skimmer was a bear to get into the system. I have maybe 1.5" clearance from the top of the skimmer to the bottom of the tank.

This is the center fuge section with some smaller LR pieces and rubble. The bed is oolite sand and miracle mud. Chaeto to come later.

Here is the return section with some LR rubble in it.

I also got the bottom trim in place. This covers up the black tank trim.

Here is my canopy in progress. I plan on skinning it with oak plywood and trimming it out. The front with either be 1 or 2 swing up doors on piano hinges.

Inside view from the bottom. 3 250W MH reflectors will mount in the center and a single 6' VHO Actinic will be on the front and back.

Finally I got my new RO/DI system. I have been using a different DI method, but one too many floods and I needed to get a system with an auto shutoff. I need to install it tonight.

Well it has been a while since I updated, but I have been working on the tank! Here is what I have left:
Canopy Door - Stained, needs urethane finish
Night Lights - Wiring up a system now
Light Fans - Need to re-do my fan system from my 55g to handle 3 MH and 2 VHO.

All the LR and the Livestock has been transfered!

Here are some updated pics!
