My new tank.

Thanks Austan.

Adrian, it's been a battle but I think things might be working out this time. (knocks on wood)

Im digging the black sand. Might have to set up a tank with it one of these days. Where did you get it from if you dont mind me asking. Cant say that Ive seen any around town. Maybe Ive just been overlooking it.

I really like the dark sand I am debating whether to use dark or white sand when i set my tank up judging by your pics dark sand has a +1 :)

The black sand looks amazing!! Ive thought about using it for a while, and Im surprised alot more people dont. Are there any negatives to using it either in your experience or what you have heard?

P.S. That anemone was awesome too! What are looking to replace it with?

Thanks Jman. The only negative i've heard about with the black sand is that you don't get the buffering capacity of aragonite sand. Which could potentially lead to ph or alk issues. I haven't had any problems with it yet though.

I want to replace the rose with a purple Haddoni or a blue gigantea. Whichever comes my way first.

what are the odds of the black male and your female breeding? I finally found a really cool male perc but he jumped or was beat up so he jumped out

You can get them at most fish shops. I've seen them at Reef Culture every time I go in. They're usually between $12 and $15.

You have seriously inspired me to do a black sand minimalist type tank now, this is so beautiful. I will have to do some sort of matte smoke black background on the glass too since I don't have a wall like that.
