Is this a frag of the Granulosa from Pet's Inc?

that granulosa takes forever to grows it seem like... been over 1 month... hasnt even start to encrust yet!

Where do you have yours placed? It seems to like a lot of light. I've only had my frag for a few days so i'll wait at least a week or two before I judge it's growth in my tank. I gave mine strong dip cuz it had red bugs on it. I don't think it like that very much. It's color hasn't changed at all though so that's a good sign so far.

Kyle, what kind of dip did you use for the red bugs??? The reason I ask is that I have tried dipping, and still got them within a month or so all over... Tank looks awesome BTW!

I use Revive to dip. I usually double the dosage. I'll add the revive to my dip bucket, baste heavily for about 30 seconds, let the coral sit in still water for about two minutes and baste again for another 30 seconds. i had to scrape two red bugs off of the coral. kinda harsh but it worked. Plus this was such a small frag that there wasn't much room to hide. If it were a larger frag/colony it would be a lot easier for the bugs to crawl into polyp holes and make it through the dip. In that case i would QT until i thought the coral was ready to go into the DT. HTH

I am starting on a bacteria and vodka regiment as of today. Bacteria first for two weeks then i'll start dosing vodka. I noticed quite a difference in polyp extension after my first addition of bacteria today. So I took some pictures.

Thanks Justin. Hows that sunset milli lookin these days. I could sure go for a frag of that the next time you chop into it.

Ive only cut off about 5 frags since i got it, and its grown just a little :)... Ill cut you a piece whenever you want, just LMK when ya wanna come out my way and get it

What's the theory behind adding the bacteria to a cycled tank? I imagine what you're doing would work with Vitamin C Dosing as well then.

Long story short...The bacteria is used as a method to assimilate excess nitrates and phosphates from the water column, a "nutrient sink" so to speak. The bacteria itself then as a bi-product releases organics back into the water and readily removed by effective skimming.:)
