My new tank

and the meek shall inherit... or just not be eaten as long as they hide really good.. :)
True that :)

Oh awesome! I read that as only one living through the first night, making it sound like it didn't make the second night.

And speak of the devil, the cleaner shrimp just cleaned my eel. It's about time! Now the shrimp in the 155g just needs to take notes from this guy.
Maybe take a video over to the other tank and show the cleaner what it should be doing :)

:celeb3:Really nice Tank and Pictures Trigger is Beautiful.
Thanks!

did u get the cleaners from petco? i havent seen any good deals on them before.
I did. They just had a one day special, they were $8 each, hard to beat.

Looks great. Don't see to many saltwater tanks aquascaped like that.
Yeah, I didnt want to do live rock because of all the complications that come with it, but I decided to add a little bit of rubble for small critters to live in.

Yep, the cleaner is still doing good. He took up residence in the top of the coliseum :) Best view of the fights I guess.

The smaller, spunkier one who wandered all around the aquarium and was subsequently eaten was the one I saw clean the most, I was afraid this larger, calmer one wouldnt clean but he has his little cleaner station going and whenever the trigger pulls up he hops right on and cleans.

The thing that sucks is it's up in a cave and there is no way to get a picture of it at all. I can just barely see the shrimp cleaning him. I can tell he is standing on the trigger and doing his thing but the camera would never capture it.

I also grabbed a couple pictures of some hermits crabs in my 38g today.

I suspect quite a while, they dont come out much during the day already :)

I put in 2 large ones and 5 small ones, so far I can still see all 7 crawling around, they've been in the tank with him for 2 weeks.

A different hermit crab picture (same crab, different picture on a different night) and then a picture of the undy's teeth! They look very very similar to the humu trigger's teeth I had, not as sharp as the clown trigger's teeth and not quite the same pattern as the goldheart.

Here's my old humu's teeth, for comparison.

My clown trigger's teeth were much sharper looking, not quite so rounded as this guy seems to have.

man what kind of Camera are you using?? thats pictures are amazing....I have some live rock and a 75 gal tank with a canister rated for 400g an hour with over head and powerhead, uv with powerhead in tank...to sum it up my tank if never that clear your tank looks amazing!

I'm using a Canon 50D and a 100mm macro lens.

My tank is pretty clear, actually I was just remarking to my wife the water is crystal clear but for one, the tank is pretty new, it's only about a month old now. Two, I only have one fish in there now, so the bioload is relatively low. I do feed him a lot but it's nothing the filtration I have set up cant handle easily. Three, I dont have anything in the water that leeches out any kind of color or other thing that affects water quality. A couple weeks ago I put in about 10 small pieces of live rock in one corner and that was it, otherwise it's all plastic decorations and a small 9lb bag of sand on the bottom.

When he digs in the sand, the tank gets cloudy but the filters get rid of it pretty quickly or it settles down again.

I have quite a few problems that I knew I would come up and they have as I expected. Probably the biggest being location, in that when I bought the tank it did not look to big but when I got it in my room it was HUGE. So its in a corner where I can not access the sides or black glass for cleaning purposes. Knowing what I know now I would love to hang an overflow on the back and run it into a skimmer along with the canister filter, but yet again cant get to the back of the tank. Then my lighting issue of both my fiance and dad have dropped the two sets of lights I own into my tank leaving me with 2 half functioning lights :(. If I could do these things I hope one day my tank can be crisp and clear

I like the second to last picture. Nice.:artist:
Thanks!

what happened ot the hawkfish?
He got real pale one day and basically wouldnt eat again, he sat for three days in one spot without hardly moving and then the fourth day I found him dead on his side.

wow great shots. beautiful trigger, makes me want one. lol
They are a great fish but I definitely recommend just keeping it on it's own, they are not a community fish.
