Just got my new toy, so I thought I would grab som pics. Now all I need is Photobret, Pookstreet or Fishybiz to help me learn how to use it. This is full auto with 55-200mm lens

not bad for right out of the box and not reading the instructions, guess that speaks to the camera. Definately took a bit of work to get the auto focus to work, the smaller and less colorful the coral, ther harder time I had taking the pic. Need to work on that.

Nice pics for a first time effort, better than most I have seen.

1: Try not to use flash
2: Practice
3: Get a nice tripod
4: Practice
5: Use Av mode with Tripod and Iso 400 to begin, lower it as you get more confident, use Av (aperture) of f8 and go from there.
6: Practice, hehe
7: Turn off pumps and keep lens 100% in line with tank, any angles between lens and glass will distort like a mofo
8: Oh did I mention practice..

You are on the right track, keep it up!

Wow, good deal. I bought one for my wife earlier this year from Costco. They had a deal for the camera body, two lenses (10-55mm & 55-200mm I think) and a case with a few extras, all for a little under $700. You can get a similar deal without the second lens (55-200mm) from Best Buy for about $570.
