my newest addition to my reef... need idenitified

was advertised as a pearl anemone crab.. but I do not think its a true pearl crab. Glad I got him, is way cool looking and loves the anemone

It's a Neopetrolisthes oshimai. This is a filter feeder that uses it's long feathery antennae to sweep food particles out of the water. They[re very protective of their anenomes and are quite fun to watch. Where did you buy it?

I have a really good LFS hee... Usually get all my unusuall things there... From live rock, to coral, also got my Picasso there.

They are very territorial of the NEM, I had dozen of those... the burgandy w/purple lining and white w/ purple spots.... the white ones like having a nem the burgandy lives more on the rocks... they are called porcelin crabs... very reef safe..

but mine looks more like the darker colored one on this thread.. but mine is more of a real burgandy/deep purple

HAD... I had a bout with dinoflangellets.. whipped out 90% of my inverts.. both species of porcelin crabs, queen conchs, scarlets, and a whole bunch of snails.

Hey I just got one today, I accidently torn one of his claws off =( will it grow back>?

slimey looking boogers with strings of bubbles clining on it...

and Yes after a couple of molts baring good water quality and calcium to aid in molting... he will grow a new arm in no time...
