My Newest Reef- 20 Gal build- lots of pics

good stuff. ps, dont be surprised if your coral banded starts eating your hermits, especially the smaller ones. in smaller tanks that happens.

thanks for the comments! FTS's are here :)

Cptn- I keep the tank really well fed, and most of my hermits are fairly large. haven't had any probs yet but I kinda feel bad for the shrimp, hes the largest thing in the tank, lol

mynock- The 55 is in my basement, empty. I'm getting ready to move and once i'm settled in I would like to start a 90 Gal and use the 55 as a sump. There have been talks of starting a tank for a single Mantis Shrimp so I might use it for that too.

Thanks for the comments. I went to Caribbean Forest today because I had a $20 off livestock card from buying $200 worth of live stock last month. Anyways I found a ricodea colony on a rock that I think I got a good deal on. It has over 20 ricodeas on it and it only came to $21! pics:

Looks good!

Can you support a mandarin on a 20 gallon pod population? If not let me know and I could trade you something for it (frags, etc)

Ben

I also purchased 10 new snails from the Reef Shop today, 5 nassarius snails and 5 Trochus Snails.

I just took some vids, there uploading on youtube, ill post them later

Sol-They had it labeled as a ric, either way I like the colors and I kinda feel like I stole it at that price...

Ben- I had quite a few pods because the sand and rocks all came from a 55 gal I tore down, and the mandrin wiped out the population really quickly. My mandrin started getting really skinny, so my friend Carl stepped in and put him in his fuge for his 90 gal. Its loaded with pods, hes been happy as can be for about 3 weeks now.

Shroutk- whats the diff anyways? does one grow quicker/ split more? Ive had the huge green one for like 5 months, its gotten larger, but has never split.

+1 on them being yumas. From what I understand, yumas are slow growers and rarely split. I guess they're more sensitive to fragging as well. I've had an orange on for a few months now and it hasn't split. It's doubled in size though and is very healthy.

Great find! Did the candy cane come on it as well?
