My overflow mod

Some of you may know , I have been changing my overflow , but for the ones that don't know , I will fill you in . My tank had an internal overflow box , and I thought it took up too much space in my tank . I decided to go with an external overflow box , and free up some room in the tank . (ONE CAN NOT HAVE TOO MUCH ROOM IN A REEF TANK ) I don't have a digital camera , so I was unable to take pics , and for that I apologize . Everything is acrylic , so cutting was not a big problem . I first cut out the internal box , and sanded out the excess left behind . I then cleaned up the cuts on the box with my table saw . I cut the box down some , and with the leftover acrylic , I had enough acrylic to make a bottom for the box . I also had enough acrylic to make plugs , to fill the holes in the bottom of the tank . I cut the plugs a little larger than the holes , and sanded them to fit tight . I then used weldon # 4 to glue them in . ( THAT WAS A MISTAKE ) . The weldon # 4 caused some minor crazing around the holes . Then cut two small patches , from 0.25 " acrylic . I used 2 part weldon 40 to cement them in . I cut the slot in the back wall of my tank , and mounted the box on the back of the tank . I now have to polish out some old scratches in the front , and sides . After that I will need to get the tank back up on the stand . Oh I almost forgot to mention the ANCHOR members that made all this possible , by removing the tank from the stand . I would like to thank dmbadard , and her her sons David , and Stefan , sunkool , Blue04 , and Bob Chickering . I thank you all . There were others that wanted to help , but they had other commitments . I can't wait to get water in this thing again .
