My peppermint shrimp JUST had BABIES!

Got tubes?
Hey all!

Ok, so I'm taking photos to show my "new" temporary hood for my T5s to Wayne (turns out 1x2s are MUCH better than PVC :D ) when I hear this "splash". I thought my royal gramma had tried to jump out of the tank, and I look to see my peppermint shrimp swimming back down with tons of stuff in the water.

Upon closer inspection, they were baby shrimp! Tiny little clear things with tails and itty-bitty legs. Probably 100+ of them! What a trip! I'm pretty sure none of them will survive, and I don't have the time to try to raise them right now, but that was really neat! I'm sure some of you guys have probably seen the same, but I have to say... this was my first birth I've seen. :D

Just wanted to share!

Cool Brandon. pretty interesting stuff happen in our tanks don't they!
BTW you will have to drop by and see my new Permanent hood for my new T-5's.

Ours used to have them every week it seemed! It was like clockwork when it would happen too - each time it was within about 15 minutes of 12:30 at night. Kind of funny how constant it was... We set up a tank and tried to raise them a few times. We did not have a whole lot of luck with it to say the least. It's really fun to try but it definitely takes some time and patience if you want to do it. I think we had a handful of them live for about 3-4 months, but then they all died...

Norman: I had a feeling you had pretty much already made up your mind on those T5s. :D I'll have to check it out some time!

Steve: Did you ever have any survive?

Jason: I'm gonna wait until I get all 4 lights going to take some pics. :)

Moriah: I thought I remembered a thread from a while back where you guys tried to raise them. If I see it happen again, I may try. Maybe over the summer. :) Thats really cool, too, that it was at the same time all the time.

I have to wonder how many times this has happened before. I was just in the right place at the right time last night. Fun!

None of mine made it. It was around midnight for me too. I could see the clowns goin' nuts. So I turned on the lights and seen them. Most was gettin' sucked up by the filter. Didn't see any the next day.

Steve

HECK I CAN'T EVEN KEEP ANY. BEEN THROUGH ABOUT 6 IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS THEY DISAPPEAR NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN. MY FIRE SHRIMP AND CLEANER ARE HUGE BUT ? PEPPERMINTS.
