My poor Green Hammer

I just bought an awesome zoanthid colonized rock and I proceeded to drop it on my green hammer, ugh....!! Some very small pieces (2 or 3) of the green tips of the tenticles were floating in my tank. The green hammer has since come back out for the most part. My questions are: 1. do i need to get those small pieces of tenticle out of my tank? 2. Will those pieces of tenticle possibly seed in my rock and grow? and 3. Is there anything I can do for my poor green hammer to ensure that he does not die due to the trauma? Thanks

Hello, welcome to RC!
I would pull the peices out. I would worry about the peices landing on other corals and stinging them.

I don't think the Hammer will die. They can take a beating. My Hammer had a few pieces of tentacles floating around once after I damaged it, but I just left them in there. They just disappeared. Keep your water quality good, and everything should be fine.

Oh, and Welcome to Reef Central :)

i had one he died right off about 1 month later it started growing back just leave em be he will bounce back

Thanks for the warm welcome and for the advice....my green hammer seems to still be doing well after the ordeal.
