Well, got home from a week in ARK for work and about an hour after I got hime, I noticed that I didnt see the PB tang. this fish is normally teh most active one in the tank. I fed and still no fish. NOT GOOD. Ive had himm for 3 years!!! Immediate thought.. he jumped. Scanned the back of the tank, nope not here. didnt see him in the tank anywhere. Knew he was in the Overflow. I have one of those CPR overflows. it has a pretty good fuz growth on it and is mostly shielded by the Monti cap. NO WAY could he have gotten in there. stick my fingers in ever so gently. YUP there he is hmm.. he didnt move. aw man.. and on the same day that farah Faucet and MJ died! NOOOOOOO!!!! so I clear off the lid and open it up and shine the light in there. .YUP, gonna have to get hte needle nose pliers to get him out. grab them and a flashlight. cut off the return pump so I can slow the flow and when I stick them in to try and get a good grip as he is most likely stuck in there (happened to a Kole once), MOVEMENT! He is alive. NO freaking way! back to my hands. Im very gentle in getting him upright. got both hands in the overflow. get a finger under his nose (he is now upright in the little area.) once I can get a good finger under and behind him, FLIP him out of there and back into the tank. ugh he laneded on that cap so I have completely pick him up and get him offa there so he dont hurt himself worse. get him back into the water and he swim off every so gingerly. wow. he is alive. hope he makes it. he has a damaged right fin and left fin and some very rough marks on his right side where I got him with my fingers and the pliers. BUT, he is not laying down and not floating. just hanging there. Last night I fed some Emerald Entree and cyclopeze. he had none of it that I could tell. a large piece hit himin the nose and he didnt eat it. but he is still swimming around the tank. This morn, I noticed him moving aroudn a bit more. swimming more with his tail than his fins, but he is doing more pacing around the tank. vs hangin out in one or two spots. we shall see. just thought you guys might like to hear the story.. ill keep you posted. ill sure miss him if he goes. one of my longest running fishes....

you guys and me both. he needs to make it! he is moving around the tank alot more today, but not using the fin on his left side. his right one he is using alot more. not picking at the rocks just yet but hopefully he will come on around. if he makes it his name will be "Gill."

Update. he still has not eaten. he is however ubeginning to use the left fin a bit which I consider a good sign. you can also see some of the damaged flesh starting to come off. looks nasty, but definately a sign that he may come around. he has also started to pick at the rocks too. still not 100 active like he was, but I do think we are on the road to recovery. give him a few more days and we will be sure.
