My Profilux needs a jumper!

I just did the updates for both ProfiluxControl and the firmware, but for some odd reason during the download, I got the error during transmission message. As expected the controller now shows a blank screen. I followed exactly what was printed on the manual and this happens. I don't know if this matters but, the only thing I did different this time was not having the laptop connected on it's power supply. Anyways, where can I find a jumper? I have no idea what I am looking for, so a pic or suggestion of what exactly to ask for at a computer shop would help.

I tried opening the flash.exe file and always get a "Regist Failed" message. Any reason for this?

What OS are you using?

Nevermind, I figured it all out and is now working. All I needed to do to get it working was to extract all those files to a folder.

I had same problem - laptop with no power supply. Lower voltage?

You could be right, this only happened to me once when the laptop wasn't connected to the power supply. Then again, I've only updated twice, so it could have been just bad luck on my side. Maybe Matthias or Michael can confirm this.

This is possible. Maybe the output signal of the RS232 connector is too low (should be +/- 12V) without power supply.

Maybe this is something that should be noted in the manual as a suggestion.
