My Purple S. Gigantea at one year!

Just Reefin'
So it's been over a year now, and what an amazing transformation..

When I first got it. Certainly had purple, but was rather severely bleached...

Now, at just about a year old, the same anemone... Literally hasn't moved except for maybe 6" upward in the rock cave it has been, but has hosted the same pair of onyx clowns. Very proud of how she looks now, with no cipro!

Our green gig is almost approaching one year (next month) so I will be posting another one year thread. While one year isn't anything in these animals lives, it's a start of a long life in my system!

Tom, that's incredible! Hat's off to you for doing a great job! I've enjoyed the reads. :) Some day I'd like to see that thing face to face.

Very nice to see. That is a very good story.

Did you end up taking pics of it on a regular basis?
I wonder if you can do a series and show it's progression in a slideshow/movie aspect.

Thank you, I intend to for as long as humanly possible, this guy is amazing.

What a sheer inspiration. Very, very nice. Keep on doing what ever it is you're doing.

I did, it's available on my picasaweb, but never thought of making a timeline type thing. What's amazing is, the Gig is still growing tentacles in a huge bald patch that was there from day one. It just goes to show you how long it takes to recover completely from the stress of being uprooted from their homes.. I'm very proud of the last year!

The Green gig is next..... end of march.

Very nice. I nurse my purple Gigantea to health, then he got sick for some unclear reason, and regressed, but is on the mend again. Essentially, I am back to square one regarding my first Gigantea. The good thing is that I got him to eat again and he is on the mend. I think I will update my thread in the next few days.

nice, mine just reached a month so I've still a long way to go. good idea about taking regular photos, I might try and do one every week or something (if i can remember).

Thanks again, it's nice seeing all of the little baby tentacles finally poking out and one baby row has made it to the mouth.... Woohoo!
